Let me know if you have any wisdom tos hare. All of my 26-28 year old friends seem determined that 27 is the year people freak out a little.

Hmm. Judging by my typing, I'm getting there.

I decided a few years ago that I wouldn't freak out before I turned twenty-eight ... but I did just throw up a little bit in my mouth, figuratively speaking. People I know who are also "turning" in the next coupla months have been experiencing similar anxieties. Twenty-seven seems to be the magic/tragic number.

27 and 28 were hard for me. 29 was easy, and, with only a month or so to go, I feel very little concern about 30...in fact, I'm almost looking forward to it. Let the Seinfeld years begin.

It's funny you say that—because I was just thinking that twenty-nine doesn't seem old to me, but twenty-seven and twenty-eight somehow do. I think the hinge years tend to be more anxiety-cloaked ... or choked. Heh.

for your birthday, i saw Nick Stahl at the gym with his trucker pulled way down over his eyes lookin all skinnier than me, and on the way out i saw Edie McClurg lookin all fatter than me, who had this to say to you, Raza: "Guys like me who came from nowhere, out of nothing, who worked their way up and and and committed themselves to broadcasting and a career in broadcasting, have to answer to you... and it is a question as to how you got to where you got to. Happy Birthday, from all of us at Bennigan's."
