the devil's candy
Depp appears to be doing his best Anna Wintour impression in this Charlie and the Chocolate Factory trailer you've probably already seen by now.Posted by razasyed at December 10, 2004 08:54 AM

love it. only thing is - depp can hide his most beautiful man status behind capped teeth and pageboy, but jaw and voice ("chewing gum is really gross, chewing gum i hate the most") betray him - his voice must be modulated from its still-current jump street timbre.
but still, love it.

I get a distinct Val Kilmer sauciness [a la The Saint or Tombstone] from Depp in that trailer.

Indeed. It's a little bit creepy -- Depp's look makes me wonder if there's a decaying portrait in Wonka's attic this time around.

that's brilliant, andrew.

brilliant, but reminds me of the league of extraordinary gentlemen, which was extraordinarily awful even with the quasi-depp in the role of dorian gray.
